1. General information
The goal of the subject is the global analysis of the usual graphic forms in the Hispanic kingdoms from the beginning of the 12th century , with peculiar interpretations in the field of cursive gothic and humanistic. We will work with a dossier of reproductions of texts and documents from the twelfth to fifteenth centuries, to perform practices and paleographic comments, and visits to archives of the city will be made. These approaches and goals are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 in such a way that the acquisition of thelearning outcomes of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement.

2. Learning results
The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results...
Is able to interpret, evaluate, know and distinguish the different writings of the historical sources between the XII and XVI centuries.
Is able to comment, annotate or edit texts and documents.
Is able to recognize the spelling of different types of texts and documents.
Is able to situate in time and space the different writings, carrying out a complete paleographic analysis, interpreting the historical written sources.
Is able to transcribe the different types of writing worked on in class.
Students will acquire techniques, procedures, elements and instruments for the analysis, organization and processing of information in the Degree of Information and Documentation, especially those related to Spanish Paleography.
Acquire a critical spirit with respect to our documentary heritage in a double sense, as part of the Hispanic written sources and as a projection of our society into the future.

4. Academic activities
* Theoretical face-to-face classes. Theoretical presentations on each topic.
* Practical face-to-face classes. In the practical classes the student will come into contact with specific writings and texts on facsimile reproductions in order to transcribe them correctly. Activities will take place in the classroom and, to a lesser extent, in guided tours outside the university.
* Face-to-face and virtual tutoring.
* Evaluation. In accordance with the characteristics and criteria detailed in the "Evaluation System" section.
5. Assessment system
FIRST CALL
a) Continuous assessment system:
- P. 1: Written test in which the transcription and paleographic commentary of several texts will be carried out; 60%.
- P. 2: Compulsory work consisting of the transcription and commentary of several texts selected from the dossier and proposed by the teacher: 40%
Criteria: Transcribe texts adequately according to the acquired techniques and according to the document editing rules seen in class. Correctly develop the abbreviations, indicating their time and place of origin, as explained in class at . To make the corresponding paleographic and historical comments on the texts.
Global assessment test (set in the academic calendar):
A written test of a theoretical-practical nature in which the transcription and annotated paleographic analysis of different texts will be carried out different texts.
Criteria: Transcribe texts adequately according to the acquired techniques and according to the document editing rules seen in class. Correctly develop the abbreviations, indicating their time and place of origin, as explained in class at . To make the corresponding paleographic and historical comments on the texts.
SECOND CALL
Global assessment test (set in the academic calendar).
A theoretical-practical written test in which the transcription and annotated paleographic analysis of different texts will be carried out; 100%
Criteria: the same as for the first call.
